Embarrassing Makeup Moments
Ever been out in public with lipstick on your teeth and no one told you? Or have you left your home with mascara smeared or clumpy mascara? And a personal favorite...how about poorly blended foundation or concealer that you notice hours later? Whether you're a makeup novice or expert, we've all been the victim of embarrassing makeup mishaps. New misskwame76 contributor and my friend, Mitzy, shares a few of her embarrassing moments with us. xoxo - Kwame
Earlier this year, I gave my 12-year-old daughter a few makeup essentials to start her own makeup collection. That included a BB cream, pink blush, and mascara. I advised her never to wear too much and always remember to blend in her makeup. A lady wants to look pretty but not like a clown I told her. Last weekend, during a trip to Target, my sister looked at me while loading the car and said, “you have such a beautiful face, don’t wear too much blush.” I was like huh, what is talking about? I was wearing the same amount of makeup I've always worn. So I let her dismissed her comments.
After putting all my groceries away, I glanced at myself in the mirror and noticed that I forgot to blend in the blush on the right side of my cheek. At that moment, I asked my daughter if this was how I looked walking around Target. And she replied while laughing “yeah mom, didn’t you say to always remember to blend your makeup. You were walking around like a clown.” Lol, we had a good laugh about it.
I experienced another embarrassing moment on a very hot, New York summer day. I was on my way home from work...feeling fabulous! I wore a very cute outfit that screamed, “Yeah, that’s right I’m a professional”. I had on a pair of tan sailor pants that fit me like a glove, with a white sleeveless silk shirt and a coral cardigan to add some color along with my LongChamp hobo bag and my Jackie O big bug eye sunglasses. I stopped at my local Boston Market, took off my sunglasses and proceeded to order takeout dinner. Luckily, I was that only customer there at the time when I placed my order. After paying for the order, I went to the bathroom where I caught a glance of myself in the mirror.
The heat caused my mascara and eyeliner to run down my face. What a nightmare! How long was I walking around like that?! I was so embarrassed and couldn’t believe that the cashier hadn’t told me anything.
So my question to you is why doesn’t anyone tell you that you are walking around like a mess? Are you yourself guilty of not telling someone that their makeup is a mess?
I must confess I myself am very guilty of doing exactly nothing lol I simply just stare and think to myself that someone should really tell that person………(whatever the situation may be) ☺
