Relocation Update...
It’s been a while since I’ve consistently published blog posts and oh so much has changed in my life.
In past blog posts, I shared about my lay-off and subsequent search for another job, it took 8 months for me to successfully find one in Maryland. Finding work in Florida wasn’t panning out so I boardened my search to include cities on the west coast, midwest and northeast. After countless interviews, I found a job in Maryland. I packed up my dog, cats and daughter and moved to the DMV area.
I love living here!
I drive more than I did in Florida because my job is an hour away from my northern Virginia apartment, but I don’t mind the driving at all the commute gives me time to decompress, take in the beautiful surroundings; like in the fall when the leaves were changing colors, I feel overcome with a wave of euphoria. I enjoy observing these changes in the environment. I enjoy watching the first snow fall of the winter and watching my Yorkie, Angel, freak out because she doesn’t like the way it feels. Life here has been challenging but good. My daughter loves her school and I love my job. And one lesson I’ve learned from my tumultuous 2017-2018 transition is that I can survive change. It’s okay to worry and feel uneasy about the drama life throws your way because there’s nothing short of death that is unsurvivable.
Update: In March 2019, I found a new job and now I work 15 minutes away from my apartment. Best move I’ve ever made.
