Netflix & Pajamas
After working ten days straight, yesterday I had a much needed day off. I spent the day cuddling with fur-babies, catching up with a friend, drinking tea and binge watching Netflix.
Netflix and pajamas; now that's my idea of fun.
Time alone and good entertainment...what else could I ask for?
I watched episodes 1-7 of “The Girlfriends Guide to Divorce” on Netflix. I wish this show has been around after my breakup. It's funny and spot on in its depiction of the emotional ebb and flow that comes with ending a long relationship.
The friendship between the main ladies Abby, Phoebe and Lyla is complicated and hilarious. Each woman has her own crappy relationship drama to deal with. Drama that would be challenging to handle without the support of good friends. I love how Lyla and Phoebe help Abby navigate the pain of her divorce by pushing her out of her comfort zone. That's the great thing about girlfriends, when it's time to stop feeling sorry for yourself, there always there to give you the tough love you need.
I thought I was shutting my brain off and indulging in some mindless television, however, that wasn't the case. The show brought up some old feelings of hurt and pain. But I guess that's how I know it's a good show because I feel the characters' pain.
The Girlfriends Guide to Divorce is touching and hilarious. This show had the audacity to make me think on my day off. How dare they!
