Self-Care is Self-Love

For the month of March, I'm focusing more on self-care. Lately my body has felt crappy and bloated; and to combat this feeling I've decided to do the Advocare 24-Day Challenge.  Today is Day 8!

I was sick last week but I never used my illness as an excuse to ditch my goals. After all our health is our wealth. Right?

For the next three and a half weeks, my focus is strictly clean eating...fruit, veggies, nuts, protein, etc. and a few supplements; no dairy, starch, sugar or fried foods. Basically, I'm focusing on home cooked meals, no more take out. 

I'm bummed that I can't drink my Starbucks Venti Soy Triple Flat White or Soy Latte. But I'm determined to get back to eating healthier and eliminating bad foods from my diet.

 I've overindulged in takeout dinners and sugary foods, my body is screaming for a detox. 

To ensure I have a successful challenge, I've prepared my meals for the week, bought a new vegan cookbook - Thug Kitchen,  carved out time for my workouts and enlisted help from my daughter to keep me on track.

I made an egg, kale, spinach and green peppers casserole for breakfast.   The OJ isn't mine; it's not part of the plan. I eat the fruit with my eggs or in my oatmeal.

Oatmeal is also part of the morning breakfast regimen. Thanks to the fruit, I don't miss the sugar.

My goal isn't losing weight it's to feel healthy. I'm excited for how wonderful my body will feel when the challenge is over. Wish me luck!
